The tears were flowing at Sunday night's American Music Awards'and they weren't just tears of joy in the winners. News posted video of the raw performance that culminated with Gomez in tears as she delivered the song which was inspired by her on-off relationship with Justin Bieber.

In an interview earlier this year with "On Air With Ryan Seacrest", Gomez said that Bieber approved from the autobiographical track after he screened the recording. 'He thought it absolutely was beautiful,' she said. 'I think it turned out really hard. I think he would be a little jealous with the video guy initially. Honestly, music is definitely an expression, of course, if you will end up that voice for these girls, there are many folks that feel this. This is universal.'
